To find your Instacart receipt, open Account, then Orders, and choose the order. Open its delivery and payment details, then tap Receipt. On a computer, sign in to Instacart, open Your orders, choose the order, and select Receipt.
Use the final receipt, not the price shown before checkout. Items, tips, or refunds can change the amount. This guide helps you find the record, save a copy, and check a total that looks wrong.
This is an independent US guide. BuildReceipts cannot look inside your Instacart account or issue an official Instacart receipt.
Find the receipt in the Instacart app
Step 1: Open Account
Sign in to the account used for the order. Tap the head-and-shoulders icon.
Step 2: Tap Orders
Find the order by its store and date. If another person placed it, ask them to open their record.
Step 3: Choose the order
Open that order, then its delivery address and payment details.
Step 4: Open Receipt
Check the item list and total. These are the steps in Instacart's US receipt guide. Menu labels can vary with the service and app version.
Save or print a receipt on a computer
Step 1: Open the right account
Go to Instacart.com and sign in. Open Your orders.
Step 2: Open the full receipt
Select the order and Receipt. Read the full record, not just a small order preview.
Step 3: Use Print
Open your browser's Print menu. Choose your printer or Save as PDF. This is a browser feature, not a promise of a separate download button.
Step 4: Check the saved file
Make sure the items and total are not cut off. A name such as 2026-09-10-grocery-order.pdf is easier to find than download.pdf.
If you keep more than one version of a digital receipt, mark which one includes the latest changes. Keep the original file too.
What if the order or email is missing?
First check the email address used at checkout, including spam. Then check where you placed the order. An order made on a store's website may use a different login from your main Instacart account.
For example, the Publix delivery help page explains its emailed receipt and order-history routes. Our Publix receipt guide also separates store purchases from delivery orders.
Do not ask the shopper to make a new record. Instacart's storefront guide says the shopper keeps the paper store receipt. The customer's digital order record is the place to start.
Why does the final amount look different?
Check each line before calling it a double charge. Added items can raise the total. A change in an item's price or weight can do the same. A tip changed after delivery may appear as its own card charge.
A pending hold is not a final charge. An item marked Not Charged was not billed, so it does not need a separate bank refund. A same-day refund can reduce the first charge rather than appear as a new line.
A simple way to match the charges
Made-up example: You see a $75 pending hold, a $62 posted charge, a $3 posted tip, and a $5 posted refund. In this case, you have checked that all the posted entries are for one order.
| Bank entry | Use in the final sum? | Why |
| $75 pending hold | No | It is not a posted payment. |
| $62 posted charge | Add $62 | This is money paid for the order. |
| $3 posted tip | Add $3 | It is separate in this example. |
| $5 posted refund | Subtract $5 | This amount came back. |
The net paid is $62 + $3 - $5 = $60. Do not add the hold. Do not add a tip twice if it is already inside the posted charge. These are sample figures, not a real customer's records.
A matching sum does not prove the entries are for the same order. Check the date, seller, card, and refund note. If they do not match, keep them apart and ask support.
If you need a neat personal summary, you can format your known items with the BuildReceipts itemized receipt tool. Label the document as a personal record and keep the official receipt beside it. It is not an official Instacart record or a valid substitute for proof of purchase.
Ask support about the exact mismatch
Open Your orders, choose the order, and select Report an issue. Give the order details and the line you cannot explain. A focused question is easier to resolve than several unmarked screenshots.
For order [order ID] on [date], my receipt shows [amount]. My posted payment entries show [amounts]. I left out pending holds. Please explain [specific line] and confirm which receipt or refund record I should keep.
Use placeholders only until you add your real details. Send this through official support. Never include your full card number, security code, or account password. If the record is still missing, follow the broader lost receipt recovery steps.
Export several receipts for work
Instacart Business supports PDF and CSV receipt-history exports. On the website, open Your orders, select Export, choose the requested range and files, and submit. Watch your email for the files.
On the app, open Account and Orders, then use the download icon. Choose the requested details and Export data. Admins also have team receipt options in Dashboard. These business features are not promised for every personal account.
Keep the final record, not a guess
Find the official order first. Save a full copy, then check posted charges and refunds. If one line still does not make sense, ask about that line rather than changing the receipt yourself.
