Dollar Tree Receipt Lookup: How to Get a Copy

Written by Sarah Jenkins, Content Writer. Reviewed by the BuildReceipts Editorial Team. Updated August 28, 2026.

Dollar Tree can review some duplicate store receipt requests. Its rules are strict. The sale must have been paid by credit card, debit card, or EBT. It must be at least $5. It must also be no more than three months old.

Dollar Tree says it cannot give a duplicate for a cash sale. The same is true for a buy under $5 or one over three months old. If your request fits the rules, use its Customer Help Form. The stated wait is five business days.

An online DollarTree.com order is different. Sign in and check Order History, the order email, or Customer Order Support. Do not use the store duplicate path for an online order.

Need a neat record for your own files? The Dollar Tree receipt tool can format real sale facts that you enter. It cannot search Dollar Tree's system. A custom copy is not an official receipt. It does not prove payment or make a return valid.

Official Dollar Tree duplicate receipt rules

Dollar Tree duplicate receipt eligibility rules for payment type, purchase total, and sale date

Dollar Tree lists four main facts. The payment must be a credit card, debit card, or EBT. The total must be at least $5. The sale must also be no more than three months old.

If the sale meets those rules, use the help form. Dollar Tree says to allow five business days. The request still needs a review. Wait for its reply before you promise a copy to anyone.

How to request a Dollar Tree receipt copy

Four steps to request a qualifying duplicate Dollar Tree receipt

Step 1: Check that the sale qualifies

Confirm the pay type, total, and date. Stop if it was cash, under $5, or more than three months old. Dollar Tree says there are no exceptions to these duplicate-copy limits.

Step 2: Gather the sale details

Write down the store address, date, rough time, total, and payment type. Add the items if you remember them. For a card, keep only the last four digits ready.

Step 3: Open the Customer Help Form

Go to Dollar Tree's Duplicate Receipt Requests page. Use the I Need More Help path or the linked Customer Help Form. Enter the details as they happened.

Step 4: Wait for the review

Dollar Tree says processing may take five business days. Save the form reply or case number. Check your email, including the spam folder.

What details help Dollar Tree find the sale?

DetailWhy it helps
Store address or numberPoints to the right system and location
Date and short time rangeNarrows the register search
Exact totalHelps match the transaction
Credit, debit, or EBTConfirms the request can qualify
Last four card digitsHelps match a card without sharing full data
Items or item countAdds another check when totals are close
Your contact emailGives Dollar Tree a place to send the result

A bank alert can help you find the date and total. It may not list the items. Our proof of purchase guide explains what a bank record can and cannot show.

How to find a DollarTree.com order receipt

Online orders do not use the same duplicate store receipt process. Start with the account or email used at checkout.

Step 1: Sign in to DollarTree.com

Use the email tied to the order. Open Order History and choose the order that matches the date and total.

Step 2: Check the order email

Search for Dollar Tree, the order number, or the date. Keep the order confirmation and any pickup, ship, or cancellation messages.

Step 3: Review the final order facts

Check items, quantity, tax, shipping, and the final total. Do not rely only on a cart screen saved before payment.

Step 4: Call Order Support if needed

Dollar Tree lists 1-877-530-TREE (8733) for online order help. Keep the order number ready. Use this team for an incomplete or damaged online order.

What if you paid cash?

Dollar Tree says it cannot provide a duplicate copy for a cash transaction. A store visit does not change that stated rule. You can still ask what other help is available for your reason.

Keep the item, package, date, store, and any message about the sale. A photo may help show what you bought. It still does not prove that you paid.

Did you lose the paper copy? The lost receipt guide can help. It lists other records you may still have.

What if the purchase is older than three months?

Dollar Tree says it cannot give a copy after three months. Do not change the date. Do not make a false record to fit the rule.

Check email, card statements, work-expense apps, photos, and old bags or files. Ask the person who needs the receipt what other proof they will accept. Their rules may be different from Dollar Tree's rules.

Can you return an item without the original receipt?

Dollar Tree's current policy has two paths. With the original receipt, an in-store item can be exchanged. A refund can go back to the first pay method.

Without the original receipt, an in-store item may be exchanged at its current scanned price. The policy does not promise a cash or card refund. Gift cards and prepaid cards cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Ask the store before you travel. Bring the item and any account or payment record you have. A custom receipt cannot turn an exchange into a refund.

What about a damaged or incomplete online order?

DollarTree.com sales are final under the current policy. Is an online order short or damaged? Dollar Tree says to call Customer Order Support.

Take clear photos before you throw away the box. Keep the order number, shipping label, item list, and delivery date. Call 1-877-530-8733 and follow the support team's steps.

What is on a Dollar Tree receipt?

FieldWhy it matters
Store address and numberShows where the sale happened
Date and timeHelps match the transaction
Register or transaction numberLinks the paper to the store system
Item names or codesShows what was bought
Quantity and priceExplains each line
Discounts, tax, and totalExplains the final charge
Payment type and last digitsHelps match card or EBT payment
Return or survey detailsMay explain a later store action

Keep the full paper flat and dry. A photo is easier to read before the ink fades.

When BuildReceipts can help

BuildReceipts can make a personal record from true facts you enter. Use it for a budget or sample layout. It can also hold notes before you call Dollar Tree.

It cannot request a duplicate or open an order. It cannot prove that Dollar Tree got paid. Never use a custom file for a false claim.
